A valve that won't open — even manually — usually has a stuck or torn diaphragm, or the water supply to the valve is shut off.

A valve stuck open keeps water running continuously on one zone. This is usually caused by debris under the diaphragm or a torn diaphragm that can't seal.

Water seeping or spraying from around the valve bonnet, solenoid, or pipe connections indicates worn O-rings, loose bonnet screws, or cracked valve bodies.

A buzzing solenoid typically means it's receiving power but can't fully pull the plunger in — usually due to debris, a weak solenoid coil, or incorrect voltage.
