A single sprinkler head that won't pop up is usually caused by debris in the riser, a broken spring, or a clogged nozzle cutting off water flow.

A head that stays up after the zone shuts off is usually caused by a worn retraction spring, debris keeping it stuck in the up position, or residual pressure in the line.

An uneven spray pattern is almost always caused by a clogged nozzle, a partially blocked filter screen, or the wrong nozzle size installed.

A cracked or broken sprinkler head will either geyser water, flood the area, or fail to spray properly. This is the most common sprinkler repair — simply replace the head.

A head that sprays onto the sidewalk, house, or fence instead of the lawn just needs its arc and direction adjusted — no parts needed.
